Our main Festival is held in June each year, with screenings dedicated to a variety of genres.

Selected films will be given two artist Festival passes, which give free access to all screenings and workshops during the Festival (including the online Festival), and 6 tickets to the screening of their film. Filmmakers of selected films will also be invited to attend a Filmmaker Lunch on the Saturday of the Festival. Filmmakers are invited to attend our opening night awards ceremony as VIPs!! All selected Filmmakers are able to take part in our Filmmaker Instagram Takeover leading up to the festival.

The Zooom Youth Film Festival has been included as a special screening in our larger Festival, and any students looking to submit their film can do so through Film Freeway link above.

*Foothills films are any films made in or by filmmakers from the Municipal District of Foothills No. 31. If you are unsure if your film qualifies email .

Our Holidy Festival! Any year-end themes are welcome: Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter, Kwanzaa, New Year, etc.

Many films are watched by the whole family during the holdiay season, but we want to bring families something new. Instead of rewatching the same Holiday films each year we want to introduce short film filmmakers.

Help us bring festive cheer to our town and we will celebrate films this holiday season!

There will be a Live in-theatre screening December 2, and then the films will be added to our secure online screening system to be watched On Demand.

Submission Guidelines

Filmmakers are responsible in securing ALL copyright clearance to film content.
Completed works only. If selected the festival will only accept the same film as was submitted and not an updated version.
Films should be completed within the last 5 years.
OFF! has no premier status requirements. Films shown prior to the festival or films online are welcome to submit.
Films in a language other than English are required to provide English subtitles.
Only 3 films will be watched from one director by our programmers, please do not submit more than 3 films from one director. If more than 3 films are submitted, films will be disqualified at random until only 3 remain.
Absolutely NO pornographic or Illegal content will be tolerated.
Film makers are responsible for submitted material. Make sure your screener or DVD works and that no spelling mistakes are made.
Submissions are non-refundable.
Submission DVD will not be returned.

Feature Films

Films in any genre between 60 minutes and 2 hours 30 minutes in length. Narrative, Documentary, art films, and any other film creation within the above guidelines will be considered.

Short Films

Films in any genre shorter than 45 minutes in length. Narrative, documentary, art films, music videos, and any other film creation within the above guidelines will be considered.

Children’s Short Films

Films shorter than 45 minutes in length with content specifically created for younger audiences.

Virtual Reality / 360 Films

These films will be screened in the lobby of the theatre and be offered free to guests during the entire run of the festival. There are no requirements on completion date, but films must be under 10 minutes in length.
