Get mentored and PAID to make your short film a reality! Workshops, one-on-one chats, production support and MORE!

The Okotoks Film Society will once again partner with the High River Performing Arts Foundation to create the Living in the Foothills Filmmaking mentorship.

The intention of the Mentorship is to encourage all skill levels of local filmmakers to create a film during the summer and to educate these filmmakers so that they have the skills to continue creating the project into the future.

What The Okotoks Film Society will provide during the program:

• Three workshops with industry professionals.

• Two round table sessions to chat with other filmmakers in the program.

• NEW: A one-on-one session with a mentor to chat about the film with the filmmaker.

• Up to $300 funding for your project; and

• A gala event to screen the completed films

  • a T-Shirt souvenir
  • A $500 workshop scholarship for most outstanding film (1 filmmaker will receive based on Jury feedback)

To receive the above items, filmmakers must:

• Attend at least 3 of the 5 sessions mentioned above.

• Attend their one-on-one session.

• Submit a progress report to the Okotoks Film Society; and

• Complete a film by September 10th .

• June 21 5:00 – 7:00PM Mentee Meet and Greet

• June 28 5:00 – 7:00PM Pre-production to post-production workshop

• June 29 2:00 – 4:00PM Special Effects Workshop

• June 30 2:00 – 4:00PM Sound Workshop

• July 25 5:00 – 7:00PM Round Table

• August 22 5:30 – 7:30PM Round Table

• September 10 11:59PM Deadline for film submission

• September 27 7:00PM Final presentation of Films
